google earth has a topography feature, its great you just have to check the feature on the sidebar. =)

You buy a little handheld GPS unit; Magellan, Garmin.. whatever.. Make sure you have the right chart.. topographic charts are available for most Greek destinations.. roadmaps however are not.. its fun to see how you progress in the mountains.. metre by metre you see how you gain or loose height.. I have tested it driving up on the Trodos mountain in Cyprus.. up +/-1700metres.. great, but take into consideration that temperature sinks 1°C every 100metres.. believe me, it hurts badly in an open rental car.. More fun is flying.. the little handheld gives you height, speed & position... so you can check wether the pilot is taking you to the destination you have booked for.. But why should you fly away from Greece.. we pay lots of money to come to your country 3 times a year since 1992.. and within 2 years, we will live there.. somewhere..
